Billboard: Consecutive Years in the Top 10
On the Hot 100
This list only takes into account a credited artists listed single. For example, Drake made an appearance on Sicko Mode which appeared on the 2019 year-end. However, since he was not credited he is not taken into consideration for a 2018-2020 listing. There have been 5 artists to achieve the feat of existing in a Top 10 YEC for three or more consecutive years.
TRIVIA
Elton John, Mariah Carey and Post Malone all have lead-songwriter credits on all the below releases.
Elton and Mariah released the majority of their below records with few co-writers.
Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (appeared first July 3), Dreamlover (appeared first August 7), I’ll Make Love To You (July 30) and Fantasy (appeared first September 30) performed extraordinarily as they were released extremely late into the tracking period (December X1-November X2) but still made Top 10 placements.
This list does not take into account sales to verify their popularity/strength during the year as it is difficult to track either the annual sales or reliable RIAA certifications.
Post Malone’s Congratulations, Better Now and Wow peaked at #8, #3 and #2 respectively, making them the only entries in this list to not hit the top spot. This indicates he must have had a very strong Top 10 / 20 performance - with so many entries it is potentially attributable to streaming and newer types of radio deals.
Post Malone’s Sunflower, Wow and Circles were released from the same parent project Hollywood’s Bleeding. The first of the songs was debuted in October 2018 and the latter made its last appearance more than 2 years later in November 2020, ultimately dropping earlier than expected due to the 52/25 rule.
